"I have always loved the contrast of colour in the male Lesser Scaup. It's brilliant purple sheen glimmers in the sun and sing's with rich colour. The only thing more beautiful is the plumage of the female. I found myself spending a lot of time admiring these members of the "blue bill" family as I painted this painting"
